Albert Gallatin's house is modest so you can tour it relatively quickly. His footprint on America's early years is huge, though, and if you have the right docent you could easily spend a few hours thinking about how this man is not better known than he is. If you do visit the thought might cross your mind how someone from Geneva, Switzerland could end up choosing to build his home in the middle of nowhere. Even today.
