Depression or no depression, the system could bring several inches of rain to the north-central Gulf Coast, including Alabama, through Friday. The National Weather Service in Mobile thinks that the most rain with this system will likely fall closer to the coast, with scattered storms possible.

A tropical disturbance that made its way from Florida is now over the northern Gulf and is expected to bring heavy rain and flash flooding to the region on Thursday and Friday. The NOAA's National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported Thursday that the associated shower and thunderstorm activity remained disorganized and located mainly to the west and southwest of the center.
