The last time the Mets picked 38th, they chose a third baseman out of Hickory High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. His name was David Wright. Wright, of course, became one of the greatest players in franchise history.
Former Michigan two-way player Mitch Voit drafted by the New York Mets
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WILX) - A former Michigan two-way stud is headed to the New York Mets. Mitch Voit was selected by the Mets 38th overall in the 2025 MLB Draft. Voit started all 56 games at second base and was the only Wolverine to start every game this past season. He hit .346 with 72 hits, 14 home runs, and 60 RBIs this past season.
The Mets dipped back into the college ranks with their top pick in the 2025 Draft, selecting University of Michigan infielder Mitch Voit.
