ROME (AP) — Pope Francis’ condition isn’t life-threatening, but he’s not out of danger, his medical team said Friday as the 88-year-old pontiff marked his first week in a hospital with pneumonia on top of chronic bronchitis.

Doctors attending Pope Francis sought to reassure the world’s nearly 1.4 billion Catholics on Friday that “the pope is fine” and “working,” while at the same time warning that the pontiff would probably remain hospitalized for at least another week and remained in significant danger as he fights off double pneumonia.
