Right fielder Wilyer Abreu and center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela combined to take a home run away from Detroit Tigers slugger Kerry Carpenter in the seventh inning at Comerica Park (GameTracker).

Red Sox outfielders Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu teamed up for one of the more unbelievable catches in recent memory on Wednesday night. With Boston locked in a 5-5 deadlock with the Tigers in the bottom of the seventh inning, Detroit DH Kerry Carpenter took a fastball from Liam Hendriks and drove it out to right field.

The Detroit Tigers beat the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, but the visiting team walked away with the game’s most unique highlight.

The 2025 season has not been kind to Boston Red Sox starter Tanner Houck. After Houck’s latest blowup against the Detroit Tigers, an outing which saw him allow 11 earned runs on nine hits and two home runs over two and 1/3 innings, he has received perhaps his most discouraging news so far.

If the start of the 2024 season was the best stretch of Tanner Houck's career, his 2025 has easily been the worst. Houck had yet another blow-up start on Monday, allowing 11 earned runs to the Detroit Tigers in 2 1/3 innings.
