The Phoenix Suns made a big decision involving the rotation roles of guards Tyus Jones and Bradley Beal. Heading into Saturday’s matchup with the Chicago Bulls, the Suns revealed they are benching Jones in favor of Beal.
Suns two-way guard Collin Gillespie has earned himself legitimate minutes over Tyus Jones following Tuesday's performance.
Jones will come off the bench during Sunday's game against the Timberwolves. Jones started the last two games, but he will retreat to a bench role Sunday due to Bradley Beal (calf) returning to the lineup. In his last three games off the bench, Jones averaged 1.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 15.7 minutes per contest.
Beal is the third option, but if the Suns move the ball and move bodies, he can be the one who gets open looks off how the defense reacts to Durant and Booker. On Beal’s dagger 3, Chicago chose to double Durant essentially at half court.
