NEW YORK (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The New York Jets have completed an interview with former Panthers head coach Ron Rivera for the same position, the team announced Thursday.

Rivera went 26-40-1 during a four-year stint with the Commanders, leading Washington to the playoffs during his first season with the team in 2020.

The Jets already have interviewed four GM candidates and two head coaching candidates, including former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel, who met with team brass Friday at the facility. Vrabel will be highly coveted, and the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders figure to be in the Vrabel sweepstakes if they change coaches, as well.

Jets fans are ecstatic that the beloved former head coach is getting another shot, as they’ve seen just one winning season since he left. During Ryan’s six seasons in New York, he had just two seasons with a losing record and led the team to six wins in the postseason.
