While Day 2 didn't carry quite as much intrigue as opening night—which saw the Washington Nationals take Fort Cobb-Broxton HS shortstop Eli Willits first overall—it gave teams a great opportunity to load up on developmental depth.

The Detroit Tigers leaned into selecting late-rising prospects as part of their haul in Day 1 of the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday. The Tigers began the night picking shortstop Jordan Yost with the No. 24 pick, followed by catcher Michael Oliveto 34th overall, righty Malachi Witherspoon in the second round and lefty Ben Jacobs in the third round.
