Nine people were killed and one was critically injured in an assisted living home fire in Fall River, Massachusetts, authorities said. Fall River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon called the fire at Gabriel House "an unfathomable tragedy.

Ambulances appeared to be waiting for patients, while a report shared by the fire union indicated the fire may be a "mass casualty incident."

River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon said when firefighters arrived at the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility Sunday night, they found people hanging out of the building needing rescue.
