As first reported by PHLY's Charlie O'Connor, Brad Shaw, once considered a leading candidate for the Philadelphia Flyers’ head coaching vacancy, will reportedly not be returning to the team’s coaching staff under newly-appointed head coach Rick Tocchet.
Adam Foote met the media Thursday morning, as he was introduced as the 22nd head coach in Vancouver Canucks history.
There will not be another John Tortorella return to the Rangers bench. After the ex-Blueshirts coach found himself in the thick of speculation surrounding the next coaching staff, with ESPN reporting there was a “strong possibility” he could return next season, it turns out Tortorella will not have a third stint in New York in a coaching capacity.

The Flyers hired Tocchet on Wednesday to replace John Tortorella, who was fired March 27. Brad Shaw was interim coach for the final nine games of the season. Sanheim and Konecny represented Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February, where Tocchet was an assistant and helped guide it to the championship.
