Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice is defending turning off his weather alerts ahead of the catastrophic July 4 flooding amid debate surrounding whether there was adequate, accessible warning ahead of the disaster that left at least 132 people dead and 97 missing.

NBC News' Morgan Chesky asked the Kerrville city manager why he had his weather alerts turned off amid nightmare flash floods that killed more than 130 people.

Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville will receive $1.5 million, and the Llano Regional Hospital will receive $396,000, according to state officials.

Gov. Abbott announced Tuesday that Kerrville and Llano Hospitals would receive over $1.9 million after recent catastrophic floods.

Abbott listed that rescues took place in San Saba and Schleicher County, and evacuations occurred in Lampasas, Menard, Kimble and Sutton counties. A total of 131 are dead and roughly 101 remain missing-97 of which are from the Greater Kerrville area-following continued search and rescue efforts more than one week after the devastating Hill Country floods.

"Due to the incoming threatening weather, all volunteers should vacate the river area, and MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND for their safety," Kerr County said on Facebook. "Only teams working under the direction of Kerr County Emergency Operations Center Unified Command are permitted in the response zone."

Kerrville, Texas resident Greg Adkins is expressing thanks to the numerous volunteers who have come to help following the catastrophic floods in central Texas.

Camille’s husband, Eddie Santana Jr. was found alive and discharged from a hospital on July 6, according to a previous post from his brother Michael Santana. As of July 15, the flood is reported to have killed over 120 people, about a third of them children, according to USA Today.

Local and state officials who responded to the catastrophic flooding this month in Central Texas defended their actions in an interview with NBC News, saying they did everything in their power to save lives and are now considering what more could be done to prevent future tragedies.
