Jurors have reached a verdict in the trial for a Democratic Minnesota state senator accused of burglarizing her stepmother's Detroit Lakes home.

The jury heard the final witnesses and closing arguments before going into the deliberation room Friday afternoon.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The jury has begun deliberations in the trial of a Minnesota senator accused of burglarizing her stepmother’s home following closing arguments in the case. The Becker County jury must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Sen. Nicole Mitchell entered her stepmother’s house with the intent to commit a crime.
