Paramount’s owner-in-waiting, David Ellison, met with journalist entrepreneur Bari Weiss on Friday about a possible tie-up between CBS News and her startup The Free Press.

Sources speculate that Weiss could play a major role in reshaping CBS News, which has been plagued by criticism of a left-wing bias.
The mogul is in early discussions about an acquisition of the site, which has positioned itself outside of the mainstream media world, The New York Times reported.
President Trump is praising the chief executive of Skydance Media, David Ellison, voicing his support for the tech scion taking over Paramount Global. But the president’s $20 billion lawsuit against CBS, which Paramount executives reportedly believe must be settled before Mr. Trump will allow the merger to go through, is an obstacle.
"Ellison is great. He'll do a great job with it," Trump told reporters during a news conference Wednesday on the White House lawn.
