The regulator authorized the company to keep its e-cigarettes on the U.S. market after a federal ban in 2022 had pushed it to the brink of bankruptcy.
The Food and Drug Administration has authorized Juul's original vaporizer and flavored cartridges to remain on the U.S. market.
Tayler said the FDA’s own research has highlighted that fact. “In the last National Youth Tobacco Survey, they asked youths if they used mint or menthol flavored and nearly 60% of them did,” she said. That’s why it came as a surprise when the FDA reversed its 2022 ban on the sale of Juul products.
