Honestly I don't know how much of it was Karate Kid being a fluke, and how much is Smith Jr picking bad roles, but either way, it has not been what I thought it would be, based on how genuinely excellent The Karate Kid was. If you haven't seen it, I really do recommend it. The writing, acting, everything, is genuinely a step above.

Doesn't learn Karate. -Correctly titled Kung Fu Kid in other countries. -Was flipped to Karate Kid in US to prey on nostalgia. -Made so much money because of the title, not because it's a good film.
